Underplayed NTR, overplayed violence...!!!
Oosaravelli, starring NTR and Tamannaah, is so violent that it stands the risk of being misinterpreted as loud and pointless. However, behind this veil of violence lies a tale of a young woman who seeks the help of a guy to avenge her family’s murders.
Directed by Surender Reddy, the film inspired from a 2009 Hong Kong-French film Vengeance, might be a big surprise for NTR’s fans because it’s probably the first time in recent years where he has underplayed his character so much. We are told that Tony (NTR) has a peculiar character and no one can guess what he’ll do next.
The scene shifts to Kashmir where Tony bumps into Niharika (Tamannaah). He saves her from a group of terrorists; however, before the two meet she goes to Hyderabad. Tony follows her and one fine day he comes to know that she’s already engaged.
He plays several tricks to befriend Niharika and her friend Chitra (Payal Ghosh) and soon he ends up confronting with Niharika’s fiancĂ©. And suddenly everything changes. Tony is a man on a mission and what it is and why Niharika is so important to him forms the rest of this story.
First things first, the title suggests that Tony (NTR) does whatever it takes to achieve his goal and it’s a pleasant surprise to find that NTR is made to underplay his character. Except the climax, which is over the top and a bloody mess, Surender Reddy holds the interest for most part, particularly in the second half.
One problem with the film is that nothing really happens in the first half. It’s filled with several gags which have a hangover of ‘Kick’ and the director ends up spending too much time in setting the relationship between the leads; however, the second half where the entire story unfolds, it all begins to make sense.
The drama in second half is engrossing and kudos to Surender Reddy who shifts most of the focus to Tamannaah. She’s the surprise package of the film and Tamannaah makes great use of the opportunity. NTR is good in his role and for a change the punch dialogues and heroism are kept to bare minimum.
It’s a cakewalk for Prakash Raj, who plays Ajju Bhai, as he has done such roles several times. Payal Ghosh, Jayprakash Reddy and Raghu Babu are good in their roles. The story written by Vakkantham Vamsi gives enough scope for NTR and Tamannaah to perform well, although nothing really happens in the first half.
Devi Sri Prasad’s music is passable and the editing is good. Surender Reddy scores well in terms of direction and the screenplay goes back and forth most of the times. Oosaravelli is unabashedly violent and gets serious as the drama unfolds. It’s not a bad film at all and it does have its flashes of brilliance but it could have been so much better.

Everyone knows that music director Devi Sri Prasad is a ladies man and is constantly with several actresses. Especially his bonding with Charmee has been the discussion point in filmnagar. But this rocking composer refuses to let rumors cow him down. "I will be friendly with any actor I please," says Devi, who accepts that actresses like Mamta Mohandas, Charmme and Colors Swathi are his good friends but rubbishes rumors about having an affair with them.
He is frank in admitting that going by his alleged link-ups; he is the most flamboyant personality in Tollywood. "Most people think I party all night long as well as during the weekends," says Devi Sri Prasad. The truth he claims is that he has so much work that he has no time to even "eat or sleep properly".
His long-time bond with Charmme has resulted in rumors of them getting married. "That's not true because she is nothing more than a good friend and also I haven't given marriage a thought. My parents are pestering me to settle down but right now my focus is work.
Given a choice, many married guys would like to become bachelors again," he smiles.
He launched actor Swathi as a singer in 100% Love. "She is one of my close friends, but I discovered she has a sweet voice so I made her sing. People speculated we were involved because we performed on stage together several times," he reasons.
He adds, "Take it or leave it. Nothing can stop me from letting my hair down at select things. As long as my parents and friends trust me, I don't shudder at anything," he says.

The composer carries the same attitude even in his professional life. "I will do only films that give me the freedom to innovate as I did with Jr NTR in Ooseravelli," he informs.
"I have special bond with NTR as we gelled together fantastically. He's also famous for bringing energy on to the screen. This is my fourth film with him and for the first time in NTR's career this album has number of melodies than any film in his career. I am glad that the music is now topping the chart busters."

Whether Superstar Rajinikanth will do a cameo or not in Shahrukh Khan's Diwali release, 'Ra.One', has been the talk in the film industry for many days now. Finally, through his microblogging page SRK confirmed that Rajini graced the sets of 'Ra.One'.
SRK wrote, "Misconcepts, misunderstood, stressed and then Rajini sir walks in the sets of Ra.One and you know why God made films! Thanks Soundarya for making our dream come true. Ra.One completed today, Rajini sir blessed it. I have tears in my eyes of gratitude and only prayers and love for his whole family. You complete us sir".
Quite a touching statement from the King Khan isn't it?
The shoot took place yesterday (Gandhi Jayanthi) at Whistling Woods Studio in Mumbai, although the scenes were supposed to be canned at Hyderabad, the location was changed by the team. The scenes were shot at a fast pace and were completed within three hours time!
A cameo featuring Superstar Rajinikanth is definitely going to fetch much audience for 'Ra.One' in the south and internationally this Diwali and will enable the film get a grand opening pan India and not just in the north! Post your expectations on 'Ra.One' and Superstar's cameo this Diwali. More reasons to celebrate, we'd say!

If you think Young Tiger NTR’s upcoming extravaganza Oosaravelli is all about high voltage action, think again. Apart from the explosive action sequences and terrific dances, Oosaravelli packs in quite a punch in terms of comedy. The movie is being directed by stylish director Surender Reddy and he has a proven track record for good comedy.
The second half of the movie especially has lots of comedy built into the story and the scenes involving Raghu Babu and Jayaprakash Reddy have come out very well. Our sources say the NTR has chipped in with his share of humour too. This should really make things quite interesting as good comedy usually draws family crowds towards movies.
NTR is pairing up with Tamanna for this movie and the music has been scored by Devi Sri Prasad. The audio album has been getting a terrific response from the crowds and people are eagerly waiting to see what magic NTR does with his dances. Oosaravelli is releasing in a big way on October 6th across the world and R.R.Movie Makers is releasing the movie in Andhra Pradesh.
